I got a Pentium Gold model first (by mistake) and I opened the box just to try it. I haven't really paid much attention to battery life so far (I've charged it once a day so far). Doing all that will probably drain the battery in a couple of hours. Sure, compiling takes a little longer than on my laptop, but I'm honestly overwhelmed at how fast the Go 2 is considering it's form factor. Normally, I'll do all this on a desktop or a pretty powerful i7 laptop. And while all that is running I can still browse stuff just fine. I've done some development on it on the couch for fun and it handles it really quite well. I'm currently running Docker (postgresql, why not), 2x Visual Studio Code, a nodejs backend and an Angular frontend (also nodejs). I'm a developer and, while this is obviously not a desktop/laptop replacement, for laughs I thought I'd try and see how much abuse it'll take.
I was considering a Pro 7 i5 but I'm happy with the Go 2 due to smaller form factor. I have a Surface Go 2 (Core m3 model) and I absolutely love it. Sadly I don’t think this will change anytime soon since most of these YouTubers are there for the click bait.
What’s retro-gaming like in this? Can it handle old computer games or modern 2D games like Inside.
I’m considering learning how to code as a side thing, can I do basic coding with it?. What’s the performance when you try to run software like Google Ads Editor or statistical software like SPSS?. Can It handle PowerPoint presentations with a lot of graphic content?. Will I be able to join a video conference and take notes comfortably at the same time without the machine lagging?. I’ve used a Surface Pro 3 for most of my University degree and I’m sure there are more questions people have about the Surface Go other than ‘CaN iT RuN PhOtOsHoP?’ Just to mention a few different scenarios they could address: This type of reviews aren’t helpful at all and it just feels like a circle jerk. Why? Just why? The type of people that work editing media already know they need a ‘pro’ device. I’ve noticed this is a trend in many reviews, how they all insist on video and photo editing software. The guy kept making reference to running Photoshop on it. I’ve watched a couple of videos about the Surface Go 2 and what made me write this comment was the ‘review’ (if we can call it so) from The Verge.
